OVERVIEW

This was a very extensive addition and remodel – touching every room on the main floor. We updated and redesigned the kitchen, pantry, laundry room, and master bathroom. We changed the existing office into a new master walk-in closet, the dining room into an office, and added a new dining room off of the kitchen. We then tore off the existing deck, and added a new covered porch and dining room onto the back of the house.

The design for the new kitchen included Sub Zero and Wolf appliances, melamine cabinets, granite countertops, and a waterfall island with a custom Caesarstone hightop. The existing kitchen’s cabinets and appliances were reused in a second kitchen/pantry directly behind the newly designed kitchen. In the great room, we removed the existing fireplace to open up the space and added a tiled accent wall. We added the new, covered porch directly off of the great room, replacing the existing deck without losing the nice view. For the porch, we used an exterior Mirage tile on the floor and cedar boxcar siding on the ceiling. Remote-operated Phantom Screens can be lowered to protect the porch from insects without obstructing views. The dining room addition is located adjacent to the kitchen and covered porch. Off the other side of this new room, we also added a small grilling deck.

In the master bathroom, we removed the small, existing shower and replaced it with a larger walk-in shower, complete with a glass door and bench seat. The master bedroom had two small closets – since the office was adjacent, we redesigned it into a large walk-in closet. This made for a master suite wing on the main floor. Since the existing dining room was more formal and located directly off of the entryway- we turned it into a new office.
